Pizza (kids 5-16): $3 Food pre-order is now closed. Limited number of food packets will be available at the venue on a first-come-first-served basis. Price: Veg or non-veg food packet: $16 each, pizza (for 5-16 years) $8 .

The following amendments were made in the Constitution on Feb 16, 2013.

Proposed Changes	As-is	Decision
Office Bearers can hold the same office for a maximum of 2 consecutive years	Office Bearers may not hold the same office for two consecutive years	Passed (71 to 12 votes)
The Executive Committee (EC) may have a maximum of 16 committee members in addition to the 4 Office Bearers (the President, the Vice President, the Secretary and the Treasurer)	The Executive Committee (EC) may have a maximum of 12 committee members in addition to the 4 Office Bearers (the President, the Vice President, the Secretary and the Treasurer)	Passed (71 to 10 votes)
In case no nomination is received for any of the Office Bearer (other than the President) positions (i.e. the Vice President, the Secretary or the Treasurer), the EC may fill that position from the elected Committee members provided he/she is not serving the position for more than 2 consecutive years.	This is a band new provision and has been recommended to prevent Constitutional emergency arising when Office Bearer positions are not filled through normal election process due to lack of qualified nominations.	Passed (78 to 4 votes)
To be elected to any Office Bearer position (the President, the Vice President, the Secretary or the Treasurer), a member in good standing must have served as a member of the Executive Committee for at least one year since 2003 (the year Uttoron was registered as a non-profit organization)	To be elected to any of the Office Bearer, a member in good standing must have served as a member of the Executive Committee for at least one year in the last 3 years, except for the first 3 years of operation.	Passed (71 to 12 votes)
Repeal the as-is. Effective 2014, Vice Presidents will no longer be “President Elect” and will no longer be elected automatically as the President the year following his/her term	The Vice President will be elected to the Office of the President in the year following the year in which he/she is elected (to the Office of the Vice President).	Passed (72 to 11 votes)

Thank you for your overwhelming participation in celebrating our first event of the year – Saraswati Puja. We are indeed grateful to our volunteer crew for their hard work in making this a true community festival! Thank you Vedic Cultural Center (VCC) for the awesome food; especially our own Chumki and Rabindra Das for the countless hours they spend, cooking, supervising and above all, ensuring that the food is prepared to our taste. We are also excited to welcome 41 new families who joined the Uttoron member community. And finally, we hope you liked the Uttoron tote-tag we distributed to all members. The General Body Meeting of Uttoron for 2012 will be held per the schedule below:

Progress Report for 2012 by the President
Financial Statement (as of date) by the Treasurer
Questions and Answers
Voting on any new resolutions/proposals/amendments
Election of the Executive Committee for 2013
Open session

Your attendance is very important as the nominated candidates will be elected to serve the community for 2013; we also need your feedback for continuous improvement. We ardently request you to attend the general body meeting of Uttoron.

Members in good standing will be eligible to participate in the general body meeting (membership dues paid at least 30 days prior to the Election Day). You must be a member prior to applying and 30 days prior to the Election Day of 9th December 2012..

Four Office Bearers positions — the President, Vice President, the Secretary and the Treasurer and upto 12 other general members will be elected for 2012 Executive Committee. Any member in good standing can apply for these posts as long as requirements per the constitution are met. The current VP Parantap Lahiri will be relocating out of Seattle and so will not be able to avail himself for automatic nomination for the President 2013 post.

ELIGIBILITY

The eligibity criteria to be elected as an Office Bearer and Executive Committee member is laid down in the Constitution and By Laws .Please refer to the Uttoron Constitution and By Laws under Org Documents at http://www.uttoron.org/org-documents/.

Mr. Joydeep Das is acting as the current Election Officer. Please send the completed form to Joydeep Das (president @uttoron.org) by Dec 2 , 2012. You can also send in your application by mail to Uttoron, P.O. Box 3691 , Bellevue , WA 98009-3691 . Please mark the envelop as “Nomination for 2013 EC”. If you are sending nominations by post please inform the election officer at president@uttoron.org.

No nominations will be accepted on the spot on the day of the General Body Meeting.

If you want a proposal or resolution to be considered for voting at GBM please send the same to the election officer (president@uttoron.org) .The proposal(s) for inclusion of additional items on the Agenda of the General Body Meeting shall require endorsement of at least twenty (20) members

We are very happy to announce the first Youth of Uttoron Photo contest.This is open to for children of Uttoron members / Bengali community in Seattle area. Images will be judged on technical perfection, creativity, and impact.

There will be three categories depending on age group.

Category A: Grade 1-5
Theme : Open, totally open. Shoot anything you like.

Category B: Grade 6-9
Theme: “Animals” (Pets okay) OR “Outdoor Fun”

Category C: Grade 10-12
Theme: “Downtown cityscape” OR “Pattern in nature”

Rules:

Submit up to 3 digital images, 2 megapixels or bigger, in jpeg format. Email your images to photocontest@uttoron.org.
The entered image must be the child photographer’s own work.
Name the images as FirstnameLastname_Grade#_ImageTitle.jpg (example PallabSen_Grade6_FunInTheSun.jpg)
No image manipulation is allowed. Minor editing to adjust contrast, brightness color and cropping is acceptable.
The deadline of sending your entry is AUGUST 30TH 2012

Deadline for reserving Food coupons online has expired – food coupons are not available online any more. Few coupons might be available at the venue, but without any guarantee.

Note:

Booking food coupons online are safe, easy and convenient. Payments are secured (through Paypal) and Uttoron has no access to your financial information, whatsoever.

Food coupons at the gate will cost $12 for Saturday lunch and $14 for all other days – however, availability of the coupons at gate is not guaranteed.

Lunch on Saturday is FREE for Uttoron Members. However, members still need to indicate the number of lunch coupons they would need for Saturday. Members won’t be charged for the Saturday lunch provided they indicate their membership status in the form below. Proof of membership would be verified at the venue while collecting the food coupons.

Pizza will be served for Kids below 10 years and younger.
