First of all, welcome to Seattle. Your family membership including all events will be $100 (family membership and event cost) + $30 ($15 for each of your children) = $130.This includes bhog lunch during Saraswati Puja and Durga Puja Sat afternoon.

We would love to see you for all events, but if you absolutely cannot, we値l be happy if you join us for Durga puja. Individual membership for the year is $15, Durga Puja event cost is $25, which include Sat afternoon bhog. Food price for other days will be posted later.

Q4. I noticed that the event costs do not include food. Why don稚 you provide one price that includes food and everything?
We don稚 have exact idea about the food cost, as we値l be negotiating for deals with local restaurants and pass those values to our members. Also, if there is an unexpected surplus (or shortfall) in our collection, we can do course correction and balance our books.

Q5. Last year I paid $87 for one adult that included food as well as Krosswindz show. This year will I end up paying more with food?
This is hard to tell at this point. Our expenditure budget is 8% higher this year due to increased cost of facility rental. We are trying to find creative ways to control cost. We are negotiating discounted rates with restaurants (like we did last year) and also exploring other models like food-stalls etc. Also, this year, our budgeting process has considered a healthy portion of anticipated revenue (not directly linked with membership) with an effort to pass benefits and savings to our members. We値l post our budget and an expenditure summary in our website shortly after Saraswati Puja, with periodic updates.

Q6. What are the benefits of becoming a member? Why did you change the membership fee model this year?
As a member, you share our basic organizational costs. Your membership helps us run our Bangla library, host website, and organize events through the year. Last year, we organized a Cricket camp for children during summer. Membership also includes Summer picnic event. In an effort to increase membership and participation in different event, this year we have separated membership fee from event cost. We hope this will help grow our member-base by extending basic membership services to a larger population, at the same time making it easier to partake in the activities for part of the year.
